Sharp-shooting, hunting, fishing, trapping, a river, striving to be a survivalist and murder all come into play in this novel. The twist is it is a teenage girl who takes the reader on a memorable trip as she sets out alone on the fictional Stark River in rural Michigan in the late 1970's and early 80's. Margo Crane has made Annie Oakley her heroine yet the life lessons presented to her are from the real people in her life.

Story better fitted to the 1870's than the 1970's.---Kathy
